As you probably know, I’m an expert on many things. Running isn’t one of them!  One foot in front of the other right?  I decided I need to become faster and increase my VO2max, because I committed to run the BRR again.  I’m usually a one and done kinda guy, but it’s an experience you shouldn’t deny yourself.  So remembering back to the BRR, it was my oxygen that was deprived, sure mountains are hard, but I didn’t have any like the other guys.  No, it was elevation and the impact on the lungs.  Again, this isn’t my area of expertise, but “common sense” tells me, down east you have to run fast to get those lungs to be able to take in more oxygen.

Google Maps provides a great distance estimator and allowed me to look for a route and map out 800 meters without a track.

I was excited to have such a great group of guys out this morning.  It was a representation of all skill levels and ages.  Giving directions I stated a 5k pace for 800 meters, Grammar repeats “sprint” – ol’ steady Eddie, Cousin IT asks for me to repeat because pace and sprint are not similar to us older guys.  Some of us ran a healthy pace and completed the recovery without stopping, YHC wasn’t one of them.  I had to walk a little during recovery, but I reminded myself   —   I’m better than I was yesterday!  You are too, if you posted!

Peace and Love brother!
