The Little Mermaid asked YHC to Q on 3/20 because he knew he was going to be out of town. Of course YHC accepted the challenge.

YHC pulled up at 0437 to find Patch waiting in his car. Shovel Flag was planted, and we set off for an EC ruck to Mellow Mushroom and back.

YHC and Patch arrived back to The School Yard to find a group of PAX waiting for a Chimichanga-led beatdown. 0530 approached, and it went something like this:

Warm Up:

  • SSH – IC – 20
  • Good Mornings – IC – 10
  • SSH – IC – 20
  • Frontward baby arm circles – IC – 10
  • SSH – IC – 20
  • Backward baby arm circles – IC – 10
  • SSH – IC – 20

Tha Thang

Indian Run to branches, the long way. Once at branches, YHC revealed the deck of cards that was strategically placed during our EC ruck. YHC instructed that we would perform 4 corners in the parking lot with Donkey Kicks, Merkins, Squats and Burpees as the exercises of choice. The kicker would be…. the reps would be determined by the cards that are drawn by the PAX.

  • Donkey Kicks – 7 was drawn – 7 reps
  • Merkins – 3 was drawn – 3 reps
  • Squats – 4 was drawn – 4 reps
  • Burpees – 9 was drawn – 9 reps

Rinse and repeat, but since YHC thought the PAX got off a little lucky with the cards that were initially drawn, this time we doubled the reps at each corner. Those 18 burpees sucked!

Next, we moseyed to the front of Aycock. Upon arrival, we partnered up for DORA 1-2-3. Partner A would run to Red Banks Rd and back, while Partner B would do exercises, then flapjack.

  • 100 Chicken Peckers (BTTW shoulder taps)
  • 200 WWII’s
  • 300 Lunges, 1=1

Plank for the 6. Once the 6 was finished, everyone performed People’s Chair for a PAX 10 count. Ma Bell and Hot Spot decided to have a nice long conversation when it was their turn to count.

Next, YHC instructed the PAX to follow on a mosey. The plan was to go to the football field for a little “fun”, but YHC checked his watch and realized that 0615 was creeping up on us, so YHC called an audible and we performed 11s at the benches, Irkins and Step Ups

Mosey back to the flag for 1 minute of Patch-Led “Good Merkins”,

Moleskin

The School Yard is always fun and YHC loved Qing this morning. My initial plan was to do a lot more running, but YHC was more than happy to modify the plan when YHC realized we had a couple of injured PAX join us today. There are a lot of different areas of The School Yard that can be utilized to plan a solid Q. Theres Branches, Memorial Baptist Church, The football field, the tree-line, the hills, and even Peppermint Park (Slim Jim’s favorite). Reach out to The Little Mermaid and get on his Q Calendar! Until next time…

Chimi Out!
