Week 3 of the 3rd F Joshua Study brought 22 men together who were eager to liver #THIRD. YHC was really energized about the continued success of this gathering. Growth has been occurring each week and the spirit is high, evidence that man cannot live on the 1st and 2nd F alone. With the Smurf Hut overflowing, the disclaimer was given and we got down to business.

This passage illustrates the Israelites crossing of the Jordan River into the Promised Land. This was one of the great moments in Biblical history. The Israelites had been wandering for 40 years after spending many generations in slavery. Many Israelites died during the journey and a whole new generation was preparing to fulfill God’s intent. The crossing was to be done as instructed by God through Joshua. It included the presentation of the Ark of Covenant, the parting of the river, the building of a memorial, the weakening of the Amorite Kings, ad one very large circumcision ceremony with a flint knife (Ouch!). Three things were accomplished: 1) God reminded the Israelites he was with them, 2) God exalted Joshua, and 3) The courage of the Amorite Kings was removed.
