YHC, Piper, MaBell, Jock Itch and Patch met for EC ruck and somebody made the mistake of bringing up wrestling..most of us didn’t know that Jock Itch has wrestling savant syndrome, kind of like rainman counting cards. He can tell you anything about wrestling on command, very impressive skill. Piper warned us not to engage but we could not resist. So in honor of Jock Itch YHC thought it would be fitting to dedicate this beatdown to old school wrestlers because I am a huge old school wrestling fan. Growing up, my brothers and I broke many pieces of furniture performing wrestling moves on each other.

1 FNG so disclaimer was given.

Warm up:

10 SSH IC

10 Good Mornings IC (thanks Vandelay for the cadence)

10 Don Quixote’s IC

Round 1 – “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. For those of you who don’t remember Dusty didn’t have a typical wrestlers body, (why are there not any fat wrestlers today) but there was something special about him, he had the bionic elbow and would speak like a southern preacher with a lisp during interviews. By the end of his career, his forehead was a roadmap of scars. In honor of Dusty Rhodes PAX performed an Indian flag run. The flag started at the front of the line and old glory was passed to the back and the person in the back ran the flag to the front.

Round 2 – George “The Animal” Steele. Another legend Steele was known for tearing up the turnbuckle with his teeth, sticking out his green tongue and generally acting like a wild man. In honor of the animal PAX performed various animal crawls to the cone, did 25 Freddie Mercury’s, then shuffled back.

Round 3 – Ivan Putski. His nicknames included “The Polish Hammer” and “Polish Power”, he was a former WWF World Tag Team Champion with Tito Santana. He had huge arms so this round was dedicated to him. Mosey to the rock pile and perform super-set curls (7’s) and overhead tricep extensions (3 sets)

Round 4 – The Iron Sheik. If anyone is looking for an entertaining follow on twitter check out The Iron Sheik. He held the WWF title for about a month before losing the championship to Hulk Hogan in one of the most famous matches of all time. His signature move was the Camel Clutch. In honor of The Iron Sheik, we moseyed to the small rock pile and did Turkish get-ups 10 each arm with a rock.

Round 5 – Ken Patera also known as “the world’s strongest man” was a  world-class weightlifter before becoming a pro wrestler, he was the first American man to clean and jerk 500 pounds over his head. His legs were enormous so this round was dedicated to him. PAX moseyed to the circle for Dora. Partner would run to the track while other partner performed:

100 jump lunges

200 jump squats

300 jump shots

Back to the flag for count-o-rama et. al.

Prayers were offered for the requests in the silence of our hearts.
