I wanted to challenge all the men that came to “The Gloom” this morning, and I also wanted to have some team aspects to bring the PAX closer together and strive to be “Stronger Together.”

The Thing (2.0)

Separate in 2 teams.  Each team has a captain.  Team 1’s Captain was Chestnut.  Team 2’s Captain was Short Stop.

Each Pax got to pick out a coupon.  We had coupons ranging from 100lb-20lbs.  We had 4 Sandbags, numerous kettlebells, 3 40-45lb water jugs, and 2 medicine balls.  Overall we ended up with at least 840 lbs of coupons amongst the two teams.

Each team had a route of exactly .47 miles.  Whichever team got back first got to lose a coupon of their choice and also got to pick out which coupon the other team would lose as well.  We judged victory by the 6 not the leader.  This way we could stay together as a team and help and push when needed!!!

(Round 1)

Team 2 won and lost their heaviest coupon and they were kind enough to let team 1 lose their heaviest coupon as well.  This left 1 PAX empty handed to help out other PAX that was struggling/

(Round 2)

We rotated routes and in doing so caught Team 2 red handed taking a shorter route than expected. (To be honest they beat us in round 1 by a margin where they still would have won)

Team 2 won round 2 again this time but managed to take a shorter route than intended again(I take the blame for not explaining the route good enough to their captain).  They removed another coupon and also let us lose our 55lbs kettlebell.

(Round 3)

We kept the same routes this time.  Team 2 came on top again.  This time they won fair and square!!!!  It was safe to say they were pacing 15 min/mile with all that weight.  They embraced the suck and killed it.

(Round 4)

Last round we dropped all coupons and the current time was 6:08.  We had 7 min to get back to the finish line.  We all got together as one group and we all finished together at exactly 6:15am.

I was very proud of the way the PAX came together this morning and proved how strong we were together.  Everyone kept the 6 picked up.  I love these men and they proved today that we are one strong group here in Kinston.  Let’s keep pushing the rock!!!
