Today was YHC’s first Q since the start of the new year. With work finally slowing down, it was time to get back out there and do work. The convergence was a great reminder of what YHC had been missing for a couple weeks, and provided an extra bit of excitement about finally getting back to Q. The tweet was sent yesterday alerting the PAX that today’s workout would be player’s choice style, and any ill will about the exercises would be their own fault. The PAX arrived, disclaimer given, and the beat down commenced.

Warm-Up:

SSH IC x 15, Butt-kickers IC x15, High knees IC x 15, Merkins OYO x 15

Mosey to Minges Meadow for…

THE THANG:

Instructions were given to the PAX about today’s setup… we would line up at the first light pole on the Meadow, run to the last light pole and back, and then one by one the PAX would pick an exercise/ routine from a list of choices provided.

  1. Run down and back, first selection made… 4 MINUTES of BURPEES (This was a great way to get things started- Thanks Cold Cut- MC disappeared pretty quickly.
  2. Down and back (recovery pace)… Skully selected people’s chair with a 15 count for each PAX. Gathered at entrance wall near Minges.
  3. Down and back… Polar bear decided it would be great for us to do Balls to the Wall, with a 20 count for each PAX. Bold choice here.
  4. Down and back… Roll Call this time… Jack Webbs (1 merkin to 4 hallelujahs, 2 and 8, etc.) up to 10 merkins. Excellent choice following PB’s shoulder killers minutes before.
  5. Down and back… Chick-Flick was the group to do some suicides, so Minges Meadow light pole suicides it was, not once, but TWICE.
  6. Skipped the down and back this time (had just completed several), and it was YHC’s turn. The plan was to introduce some a little different, so the PAX moseyed to the concrete benches near the shovel flag. Instructions were given for Irkin/Squat/Dips. Facing the bench, perform 1 irkin, box jump onto the top of the bench, perform 1 squat, jump down other side and perform 1 dip. Turn around and perform 2 of each motion. Continue until you perform 12 irkins, 12 squats, 12 dips.
  7. With just enough time for one more choice from the list, YHC took the PAX to Mt. Murphy. Up the stairs and back down was one lap. PAX completed between 10 and 13 laps before time to head back to the SF.

Prayer Requests:

Steamy, Crack corn, Papa Smurf, and Carol Ceech all dealing with personal health battles. Praying for continued strength and comfort throughout their journeys.

YHC’s M officially reached the 20 week mark of pregnancy yesterday. Praying for continued strength and development for both mom and baby.

Chick-Flick shared an encounter with a man at McDonalds yesterday. CF was able to share his testimony with him and encourage the man in his journey to find work. Praying for his continued pursuit to find work and better himself.

Cold-cuts father, 93 years old, fell the day after Christmas and broke his foot. Praying to comfort and healing with his father.

Announcements:

New temporary ruck workout on Mondays.

Great work by each and every PAX member this morning. It was great to back with these guys this morning laughing, sweating, and pushing ourselves to improve mentally and physically. If possible, avoid taking multiple days off. Trust me, you will miss it, and you will feel it when you come back. Consistency is key. There are plenty of AO’s to choose from on any given day of the week. All you have to do is POST!
