Well, I woke up this morning knowing it would rain, but after what I ran through on Sunday with Sugarbaker…….I won’t skeered!  Gamecock was texting and came by with Yellowstar to pick me up. With towel and water in hand we drove swiftly to the AO. As we turned in, there was no shovel flag…..there was no PAX!  My first thought was that our watches were wrong and everyone took off already. It wasn’t raining. Then Cable and Slim Jim pulled up which confirmed that something was amiss. YHC went to the car to check ENC Twitter……..nothing.  Checked Slack and saw where all AO’s were cancelled due to the weather (obviously it was bad before I woke up! ).  We took a quick poll and unanimously voted NO QUARTER!  This AO is called Run Strong, so we were running dammit !

Warm Up

It was already 5:32 so no warm up……time to roll.

The Thang

YHC took the lead and decided we would run the Sasquatch leg from Elm Street to Greenway. Behind Elm St Park and running through to Green Springs Park was wet, but the PAX persevered. About the time we came to St James Church we heard footsteps and Strokes came rolling up, as he had discovered no runners at the Commons and was in search of a PAX with some intestinal fortitude! We followed the Greenway to the dog park, with Strokes and Yellowstar doing their version of the scout run, returning to check on the six every so often. At the Dog Park, we considered renaming Cable “Deuce”…..but cut him some slack. We finally headed up Elm Street back to the shovel flag.  We got in 5 miles in about 52 minutes.

Moleskin

Really glad I showed up and ran this morning.  Although it has been a struggle, I am feeling better and my body is recovering better as I have been able to post more lately and get back in the swing of things. Great running with a smaller group this morning. Strokes and Yellowstar pushed each other, while the rest of us (4) kept a steady pace and pulled each other along. Good conversation with my F3 Brothers.
