YHC has been battling a bum Achilles that’s made it hard to post the last few weeks, so when Bench asked if I wanted to Q, I was a tad hesitant. But, YHC decided to have a go at it and come up with something simple that wouldn’t put myself in much more pain. The results were mixed…details in the Moleskin below. YHC rolled up to #CoopStronghold to find 10 other PAX waiting, 0530 struck and we were off like a dirty shirt.

Warm Up:
SSH IC x20
Imperial Walkers IC x20

I bought a 12-sided workout ball at 5 Below a few weeks ago and had been waiting for the right time to break it out. The PAX moseyed over to the bench circle in front of Gate 6 and that would be our spot for the beatdown. Each PAX would roll the ball which has a different workout on each side (some modifications were required):

25 LBCs
10 Frog Jumps
15 SSHs
15 High Knees
10 Mountain Climbers
1 Minute Wall Sit (modified to 10-count for each PAX)
10 Lunges
Run for 2 Minutes (modified to run to the bench circle at Gate 9 and back)
10 Squats
10 Burpees
10 Merkins
“Water Break” (modified to be roller’s choice)

Now, The Clydesdales is a “non-running” AO and as YHC mentioned above, my Achilles has been bothering me, so naturally I didn’t plan on a lot of running. Only one side of the ball has a running exercise, so YHC figured “what are the odds that side will come up very often?” Well…after the FOURTH time it was rolled in the first 20 minutes, YHC called an audible and we did a round of Sally Squats instead (“Bring Sally up!/Bring Sally down!”…try getting that song out of your head now!) The idea was that each exercise would be done in succession and keep the PAX moving for the whole 45 minutes.

Moleskin:
All the PAX should know that each workout begins with the “disclaimer”. You should always push yourself, but don’t HURT yourself. I Q’d Clydesdales about a month ago and put together a pretty good beatdown (if do say so myself). 1-2 days later, I felt a pain in my Achilles, and it’s lingered around enough to keep me from posting much in the last few weeks. Following the Clydesdales this past week, my Achilles started hurting even more, and YHC will probably be on the shelf for the next few weeks. This moleskin is just a friendly reminder to all PAX out there to know your body and know your limits! We’re not professionals and it’s not a competition. Make sure you listen to your body and know when it’s telling you the difference between a good pain and a BAD pain! Aye!
