Bench sent me a text asking me to Q The Clydesdales and it took me about 30 seconds to say yes. YHC has never been Q at this AO and love the group of men that post here.  Spent a little time thinking of ways to deliver some Mayhem to the PAX, and decided to try to explore the ECU tailgate lots. In particular I wanted to make it across the street to Elmhurst, I really liked the concrete parking curbs in the white lot, and the tennis court area and hills are one of the best parts of this AO. The main numbers I focused on was 16 (YHC hasn’t missed an ECU home football game since I was 16 yrs old) and ECU’s 1-5 record.

Disclaimer – No FNG’s, so I am called Mayhem for a reason……..Check your blind spot.

Warm Up

The Thang

ECU ain’t worth two cents on the football field, but we know how to tailgate! Today we are going to visit the tailgate lots. During the tailgating you walk around and visit friends. Sometimes you have to stop at the Port O Johns and it slows you down.  So when we go by Port O Johns today, we will do 1 Perfect Hand Release Burpee plus 5 low squats for each POJ in the row (to reflect ECU’s 1-5 record).  There will be SOME running as we move around, but we won’t get separated. Lets start in the Shreve Silver Lot.

Follow me to the first set of Port O Johns!      1 Burpee / 30 Squats

Lunge to next set of POJ                                 1 Burpee / 20 Squats

Run Backwards to last set of POJ on the corner  1 Burpee / 45 Squats

Cross over to Elmhurst Lot

  • Run on the path to swing sets                                Swerkins x 16
  • Around back side of Elmhurst past POJ…………1 Burpee / 5 Squats………mosey toward the White Lot

Stop at houses that were leveled that are now tailgate spots…..and do Rocky Balboas / Curb Kickers for the six.

Continue to White Lot……POJ…….1 burpee/20 squats

Way back at Big Ballgames you used to see the Goodyear Blimp! Well we suck so we gotta bring our own BLIMP! BLIMPS using concrete parking markers

  • Bear Crawl
  • Lunge
  • Imperial Walkers
  • Imperial Walkers back and do Merkins               x16
  • Lunges back and do Plank Jacks                        x16
  • Bear Crawl Back and do Squats                         x16

Before we leave…….more POJ……1 Burpee / 20 Squats

Run backwards down the path to the Lighthouse / Scales Field House Lot

  • Past 2 POJ……1 Burpee/10 Squats

Use Wall at Scales Field House for:

  • Irkins                    x16
  • Dips                       x16

Mosey around to back side of tennis courts. Find a partner.

  • Balls To The Wall for one partner, while other partner runs down to POJ and does 1 Burpee / 25 Squats ; Flapjack
  • Rinse and Repeat with Wall Sits   1 Burpee / 25 squats; Flapjack

At this point we were short on time, so we ran back to the shovel flag and did 55 more squats……which put us at 287 squats for the workout……the same number of points ECU has relinquished this season!

Moleskin

This ended up being a pretty dang tough workout!  We covered about 2.25 miles, and I burned 603 Calories! I know that The Clydesdales might have had the reputation of being a “no running” or “recovery” AO; however, since I have started in November, I have seen not only my fitness level improve……..but also I have seen the fitness level of the men that post at Clydesdales improve. Kudos to the site Q Bench for the tremendous job he has done.  I also really love the terrain and different options that are available here. In addition, this AO is special because I think of Papa Smurf (we did Smurf Jacks during warmup, and I wore my Coop Stronghold shirt). #HIM
