YHC was thrilled to get back into action, I’ve been dealing with an SVT (superficial vein thrombosis).  Sucker hurt pretty bad at first and had me pretty scared but when I found that most would treat conservatively I took the liberty to continue training now that it has improved.  Gazelle sent the invitation to me for some EC and YHC wanted to keep up my miles for the 1000 mile challenge.

5 AM: Gazelle and YHC started out from home base for a 30 min loop and cycled back at 5:30 to see if additional PAX wanted in at a later time.  Gazelle and I went out for another 30 min loop but realized that we 6 min out from home base with only 2-3 min left before The Commons.  Picked up the pace and finished with 7.6 miles during EC.

6 AM: THE COMMONS!

YHC was glad to see Cousin IT had decided to plant the Commons flag prior to our arrival, Strokes warming up and ready for some work.

Warm up: SSH, High Knees, Butt kickers  each 10x In cadence

Scout Run to the stadium, Gazelle breathing down the neck of Cousin IT throughout the run.  Don’t think he wanted Cousin IT to feel lonely out front.  It was great to talk with each of the guys today, good to encourage each other and push each other and we ran through the empty dark streets of downtown.  Arrived at the Stadium cite for our first challenge.

Catch me if you can (5 Burpees) 1 lap around the Stadium (those 5 Burpees sure do put you behind a good distance).

Repeat Catch me if you can (now with 5 Merkins) Gazelle wouldn’t give me break today.  Even on my last stretch to the finish line when I didn’t think he could catch me he still came flying up with the tag.

Stair Drills: 5 rounds of stairs (10 Lunges each round)

Scout run back to Parking Deck; OYO 10 squats, up ramps to top and back down steps repeat 2 times, reverse for 3 round up the steps, down the ramp.  Run back for the six.

Pax Run back to home base at Town Commons, down to stage, and Jailbreak back up the hill.  Finish at the flag and PAX each decided on some Mary.  Gazelle: American Hammer (15 in cadence), Strokes: Box Cutters (15 in cadence), Cousin IT: WW1 sit ups  (15 in cadence).

BOM: YHC was thrilled last night as my wife and I were able to lead our son (Noah) 7 year old through the salvation journey. After about an hour of discussion (He had a lot of great questions) he decided that he didn’t want to wait another day.  We wanted to ensure the decision he was making and didn’t want him to make a choice based on pressure from friends, parents, etc.  We were happy to see the joy afterwards and that he wanted to call grand parents about his decision. He was also glad to see that he didn’t float up to heaven following his decision (his fear since he was 5). It was a wonderful time of celebration and discussion with him today on the start of his journey.  I loved the idea that he couldn’t go to bed without  a decision, it is that important and hit me hard that maybe I haven’t been reaching out to those around me with the good news of a FREE GIFT of salvation that will start a wonderful journey that means so much more than money, my pace time, waist line, and what kind of car I drive or home that I have.  I am excited to see what God has in plan for Noah.

Gazelle’s cousin had a house fire that will require them to live in temporary housing for at least 5 months.

Great morning with the PAX this AM! Great day for a run, pavement never lies to you, it will always be there, keep pounding and be smart with your training.
