Growing up in Gaffney, SC and later attending Clemson University, I was taught there are only 2 seasons………Football season and pre-season.  Today I decided to share some of my favorite (actually least favorite) pre-season drills.

WARM UP

One lap at slow mosey around the track

Mayhem arrived

12 SSH (IC)

12 Bean Pickers (IC)

THE THANG

Scout run around the track for ½ mile just to get things going.

110’s (aka something else that if you weren’t at the workout I can’t repeat here)

Started at goal post and ran to the other end zone for 110 yds.  5 merkins. At the minute mark ran back and did 5 squats. Rinse and repeat 10 times running on the minute mark.  Hint, the faster you run, the longer you get to “rest”.

1 lap active recovery run around the track.

Moseyed to home sideline of football field for partner gassers.  One partner runs across the field while other alternates between 10 merkins and 10 squats.  Target was 10 trips per partner, backed it down to 8 due to time.

½ lap active recovery run around the track.

Back to the 110’s!!!!  Only had time for 8 this time!!  Same as above, run then 5 merkins, and next minute run then 5 squats.

Back to the flag and DONE!!

MOLESKIN

I have to apologize to the PAX today for letting them down.  I had stated that we would get in a 5K (3.1 miles). We failed and it is my fault.  We only got 3.02. Fella’s, I am sorry, BUT I AIN’T GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEXT TIME!!!!!!!  You WILL be ready!!!!
