Many tears would be shed during this route, not because of the distance or intensity, but for the painful reminders of how many dollars have been “invested” by wives, girlfriends, kids, or significant others at the businesses along the way!

No tears, though, on account of the weather, as YHC pulled into the parking lot of J.H. Rose High School to a cool 51 degrees — a perfect start to October!  We had a strong showing of 22 PAX, including a prodigal son, Frozen Peas, and a Rush newbie, Sparks!

Directions and route were given at 5:30 AM.  The route was as follows:

  • RIGHT out of Rose parking lot onto Arlington Blvd.
  • LEFT onto Hooker Rd.
  • LEFT onto Greenville Blvd.
  • RIGHT onto Red Banks Rd. (for “long-striders” — add’l 0.5 mile)
  • LEFT onto Arlington Blvd. (for “plodders”)
  • RIGHT into Rose parking lot

PAX were instructed to go back for the six at intersections of Hooker & Greenville and at finish line.  PAX logged between 4.1 and 5 miles upon finishing at 6:15 AM!

Prayer Requests:

  • Stitches: friends who are expecting a baby (previously dealt with complex heart issue during previous pregnancy), prayers for good test results.
  • Sparks: baby, Sophie, experiencing seizures and spasms.
  • String Bean: recently retired aunt whose husband was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer.
  • Hot Spot: daughter, Weatherly, struggles with anxiety.
  • Frozen Peas: for our country/nation
