YHC decided to present two routes this morning. One for the fast tempo runners and another out and back for everyone else. Unfortunately, we had no takers for the fast route including YHC.

The Thang:

The proposed route was an out and back down Laurie Ellis to the stop sign at Jack Jones and back. It was right at 5 miles and and would require maintaining at least a 9:00 min pace. This would also allow the slower pax who couldn’t make it to run 22 mins and turnaround. Everyone took off as we headed towards Laurie Ellies. The mumble chatter was light because several of us ran 3 miles of EC and it was already 80 degrees. The tailwind on the way out was helpful but made the air stagnant. On the way back we had a rough head/crosswind, but at least there was some air flow. A couple of pax struggled to bring it in on time due to the heat, but Wedgie and I went back for the six and brought them in just a few minutes past 6:15 am.

Everyone pushed hard as we are acclimating for the summer temps in eastern NC and training for BRR.

Moleskin:

It’s getting hot. Time to prepare for the heat and humidity. It’s important to stay hydrated and start bringing water on your runs. Be safe, plan ahead.

COT:

  • Spalding – Keep those struggling with mental health in mind and prayer. Be vigilant.
  • Bono – Collector’s adoption didn’t go as planned.
  • Mr. Belding – Younger brother William dealing with schizophrenia and not recognizing people.
