Every now and then when YHC has the Q for the #WintervilleRunClub @ #TheSandlot, YHC likes to keep the centric part in the run-centric AO. With that in mind, YHC also wanted to have a run workout that encouraged more togetherness, more talking, more mumblechatter, and less solo running that we get on just long runs. So the plan was devised as outlined below.

-The Thang

  • Run along the circular path by the amphitheater area. Each Pax, taking turns, was to ask a question of the group (one per pax) and if you were an affirmative to that question, the Pax asking would give an exercise to perform in the circle. Return to running a lap and the next Pax would ask, and so on down the line. Questions asked ranged from “have you seen the movie Die Hard” to “have you ever sharted?” Apparently YHC is the odd man out, as YHC cannot ever remember sharting. Exercises included LBCs, merkins, flutter kicks, burpees, etc.
  • After the question round, Indian run to Primrose and down to Forbes st.
  • At the Primrose / Forbes intersection: continue down Primrose, when you get to the T in the road, Left for less distance, Right for more distance. Meet at the Walgreens parking lot.
  • In the Walgreens parking lot, YHC took a page from the first #WintervilleRunClub Q, Grammar. Sprints in the Parking lot. 1 lap, sprint long side, jog short, spring long side, jog short, recover. Repeat 7-9x.
  • Continue down Cooper to the church.
  • Back pedal from first island to the far one and run back. 2x
  • Each Pax sprint to far island and back individually while other pax did and exercise called out by the returning runner. Exercises included LBCs, merkins, WWI, planks, etc.
  • Return to AO
