All sayings from Boyd Lee Beatdown’s fearless leader, Abu, that have been used many of times and heard by several F3ENC PAX.  Sure, they make for great jokes, but they are all sayings we think about while slinging kettlebells.  Abu always breaks down the science of the kettlebell, and so YHC tries taking notes just in case YHC is shoulder tapped to lead BLB.  YHC didn’t quite use these sayings throughout the beatdown (didn’t feel comfortable), but YHC tried to help remind the PAX proper technique.  0700 came about and it was time to:

THE THANG

YHC slightly modified several different kettlebell WODs for time and safety (since it decided to pour down rain).  YHC also didn’t have cool music like Abu and decided to keep the PAX together throughout each WOD.

 

WOD 1:

4 x Rounds

20 x Russian Swings

10 x Merkins

10 x American Swings

15 x Squats

 

WOD 2:

3 x Rounds

10 x Push Press (Right Arm then Left Arm)

10 x Front Rack Single-Legged Squats (Right Arm then Left Arm)

10 x Single-Arm Swings (Right Arm then Left Arm)

 

WOD 3:

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

Kettlebell Clean (Right Arm then Left Arm)

Goblet Squats

YHC had to call an audible.  The first round was 10 x Kettlebell Snatches but, with the rain, YHC was concerned the Kettlebells were going to fly.

 

WOD 4:

5 x Reps Each (as many rounds as possible until time)

Although the rain made the beatdown a tad bit more challenging, it was still a great time with a great group of guys.  Thank you to everyone who attended as YHC was thankful of the support from each PAX.  Don’t be afraid to grab a light Kettlebell and try something different if you haven’t been to a Boyd Lee Beatdown before *coughcoughrunnerscoughcough*.  It is always a challenge but it is always a good time.
