Wrapping up a bittersweet week for F3ENC, I felt it appropriate to honor Papa Smurf during and after the workout. A thought provoking quote I have seen that is attributed to Papa Smurf goes something like “Know that your life matters to many. So do good work, laugh everyday and press on!”

Well, we at least got the pressing part down pat today.

Prayers for Angus as he undergoes a heart procedure

Moleskin
First and foremost, the effort that each PAX gave was something to be extremely proud of. Putting in form work on a difficult olympic movement, executing perfect form on all movements and modified movements (i.e. full depth on air squats, pulling from a full hang position on the pull up, etc.)

You want to see a competition approved air squat? Check out Eggplant’s form
Want to see a 200+ pound man knock out 96 pull ups? Check out Mellow Johnny
Want to get kicked in the dong by a kipping Tonka? Position yourself across from him on the pull up bars lol.

I was a damn proud Q this morning. I also got an opportunity to open up a bit as I have come to realize that we all process thoughts and feelings differently and these differences are to be embraced and not dismissed. F3 absolutely helps me sympathize with how other’s process their thoughts and feelings, helping me to become a better follower and inherently helping me to become a better leader. Bono pointed out that many of us are in similar phases in life and can glean valuable insight from each other on what may lie ahead in the path of life. I have learned that I may show love in a different way then the next guy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love just as much and just as hard. If we all can internalize that concept, the bond between our F3 brothers will become that much stronger.

I’ll end with a wholehearted agreement with Papa Smurf’s quote that every life does matter to many, whether spoken or unspoken, known or unknown. And it is vitally important to do good work. If not, then why bother showing up and investing your precious time, the most valuable and scarce resource you have here on Earth. It is also imperative to laugh every day. Laughter serves as medicine that has no ill side effects. And most importantly, press on. Life will not always be fair. There are two ways to look at your circumstances – either you feel you have been afflicted or wronged in some capacity or, just maybe, you have been chosen! I challenge us all to find out what we have been chosen to do.
