This was not a normal Monday for the QIC. This was a very special Monday, for sure. One that allowed me not just the great honor to Q/Press on with my Brothers in the Gloom (for the second time), but also where I did my VQ with a PAX of a most precious nature…specifically with the 3’s, 4’s and 5 yr olds at my children’s preschool, later this afternoon. Both of these were great and humbling opportunities to serve, grow, encourage and persevere and enjoy with great people, Big and little, younger and older.

So, on the morn after the Red Moon we set out to take care of the business in the gloom.

The Warm-Up (Dynamic Cone-to-Cone):

Now, PAX make a circle and: Arm Circles (10 each way), Torso Twists (5 each way), Reach for the Sky (single-arm, alternating), WYT&I’s (10 ea. letter), Bridge with alternating leg extensions x 10, Plank Variation: Full Plank to Chill-cut (x5 lead with left elbow and x5 leading with right elbow). @ Fences between the ball fields: Partner Up: One Partner holds balls to wall while other bear crawls to the opposite side fence, then sprints back and they switch. Then, One partner single-leg squat x10 while partner lays on back and holds legs in space to provide something the squatter can use for balance, as needed. Then, switch again for a complete cycle of squats on the opposite leg. Run to the Picnic Shelter.

@the Picnic Shelter: Derkins x 10, Super step-ups, left lead leg x 10, Dips x 10, Super step-ups, right lead leg x 10, Lying/half-seated leg circles 10 each way. Run to the wall.

@the Starting Cones: lined up and did the inch worm (standing, walk out hands into a plank position. Perform a push-up, followed by a prisoner cell merkins, with two lunges and repeat to progress from one cone to the end/last one. Then, we ran out of exercise time and began seeking any announcements.

Announcements: Family Day was moved to Sunday, October 11th. As a result, please go to the sign-up that Cousin IT provided for us and add you and your families name and head count number OR remove your name, etc. and info in case you are not able to go the new weekend date. Also, Cousin IT mentioned that it had been a while since someone did what it took to earn the ability to record their name on the Plank. The criteria for that honor is completing at least 8 workouts in one week (and, there are a total of about 14 overall workout opportunities.

Prayers & Praises: Gazelle and Mello Johnny’s, son’s, their little boys have/had a fever; Mike Gentile is dealing with an immune system challenge that has had him on a respirator for the last 14 days; Kenny Pittman has been going through chemo and radiation for a stage 4 cancer. His prognosis is good, just challenging with the side effect/results of the chemo & radiation. Pongs Mom is doing very well in recovery from her mouth surgery. Continuing to lift up the previously shared requests, along with those who couldn’t overcome the fartsack, this morning.

It was and is truly a great honor to serve and sweat beside my Brothers in the gloom. This is truly a vital component in the equation of our body/temple stewardship. Thank you for all the forever faithful and the newer comers that persevere and overcome each and every opportunity they can. God’s Blessings
