Stringbean put the call out last week for a runstrong Q.  After having been put through the wringer by Gazelle that morning, YHC felt the spirit and enthusiastically volunteered.  The goals for today were to effectively manage the string of pearls over a large area, keep the transitions short, maintain a good heart rate, have a few laughs, and push the Mustangs as much as the clydesdale while keeping the group in relatively close proximity to each other.

The Thang

Cruise on down to the Tall Stairwells on the backside of Science and Tech Building.  Call out to the sandbaggers to pick up the pace.  YHC knows better than to believe I should be 40 yards in front of the next fastest runner in the PAX.    Run up to the top and back down.  Then the PAX headed for a quick lap around the building while waiting for the six to descend.  YHC led a small group of the six for an exploratory run through darkness in order to meet up with the group and then quickly realized we were going the wrong direction.  Necessary adjustments were made and the group met up with our mustangs for some Ass Kickers which confused some of our pax (i.e. Dewey), who is used to the more PG term butt kicker.

Once the Six arrived, we cruised to the Mall (not the Greenville Mall IT).  Plankorama for the six.  The PAX partnered up to play catch me if you can.  Partner one runs backwards around the mall while partner 2 does 4 burpees and then runs forward to catch partner one.  Flapjack until 2 full laps are completed.  Snake the stairs while the six was pulling in.

Off to the Brick Circle between the Science and Technology Building and Bate.  Last minute detour was called to go up and over the science and technology building using the stairs.  Same partners but now the partners are running in the opposite direction.  1st and 2 time they meet each partner completes 10 merkins each.  3rd and 4th time they meet each partner completes 15 squats.

Cruise back to the elm street flag.  Grammar was at YHC heels and I began to encourage him to take the lead.  He pulled ahead and we pushed hard to the end followed close by IT and a group of sugar rays.  As the rest of the string of pearls pulled in to the park, I redirected the PAX to the tennis courts.  1) Down and back Karaoke 2) Suicides 3) 3 Rounds of three court wind sprints.

Moleskin

I love to see the familiar faces that I have grown up with in F3 (Gamecock, Charlie Brown, Grammar, Closed Hand, Shrimp, Cousin IT, Stitches, and Lachey).  These are the guys that have proven time and time again that they are High Impact Men and I am fortunate to have them in my sifter.  Of course, I am always excited to welcome the newer guys (The skipper, Band Camp!).  These are the guys that give me hope and evidence that F3 is working and continues to reach new men in our community.  But today, what really caught my eye were the guys in the middle.  Guys like Zucker, Past Due, Dewey, Zebra, and Tater that have been coming around enough to feel the positive effects of accountability and a strong network of high impact men.  These are the guys that stuck.  We throw FNG after FNG into the mix in hopes they stick and get out of this what we have.  The PAX better watch out for these guys in the middle, they are the next class of leaders.  #Rising
