16 HIM posted at #RunStrong to take a stroll through the city. The weather this morning was a little cloudy with some fog an warmer than expected. I was glad to be back out in the gloom and thanks to Underdog for tapping me to Q this morning. In the spirit of competition, I posted on Slack that City Running>County Running to fire up guys to post at #RunStrong vs #TheSandlot. Well, wouldn’t you know 16 HIM posted at both sites this morning. Awesome!

The Thang:

Departed ESP headed north on Elm Street then made a left on 5th Street. Followed 5th Street turning back for the 6 at SupDogs. Continued on to the parking deck at 4th and Contanche where we split into 2 teams and raced each other to the top and back down. We couldn’t determine the winner so we all chose to be on the winning team. We continued onto Evans St making a right onto Dickinson Ave. Continued out Dickinson making a right onto 14th Street, then a right onto 10th Street over the Connector. We turned for the 6 at Starbucks then continued down 10th and right onto Elm back to the flag. A good time was had by all and there was a little mumblechatter about the sprint up and down the parking deck. I heard someone say BRR is over for this year…

Prayer Requests:

String Bean’s 2.0 is a senior at JHR and with the pandemic, it is giving him the feeling of being detached from school and his classmates. He also has several early college applications to get submitted. Prayers for Avery as he continues to navigate his senior year of high school and completes his early college applications. He is hoping to be able to swim for JHR when the season commences in the spring. Prayers for him to land in the right spot.

Skipper and all other AD’s in the county as they work to prepare for some sort of athletic season for the students in our high schools who desire to be able to compete, especially those who are seniors.

Announcements:

Brass Monkey will be performing a trombone recital on November 5th and will be posting a link on Slack. Be on the lookout for the link and to see the musical talents of our brother.

T-Bone posted in Mumblechatter on Slack yesterday about Pastor Coles of Churches Outreach Network needing for help unloading 600 5-gallon buckets full of cleaning supplies on Wednesday, October 21st 3 pm at 1067 Brompton Lane in Greenville. Take a look at SLACK or reach out to T-Bone.

Congratulations to Spare Change as he is taking over Site Q responsibilities at #RunStrong in December! Be on the lookout for shoulder taps to Q.

Moleskin:

Thank you to Underdog for asking me to Q. Thank you to Past Due for reaching out to motivate me. Being a part of F3 is valuable and forges relationships with brothers who are all going through the same stuff. It is good to have fellowship during workouts, the COT, and outside of F3. As I posted after the workout this morning, I noticed that there were also 16 HIM who posted at #TheSandlot, 16 at #EaglesRidge, and 11 at #RuckReady. Pretty cool for 5:00/5:30 on a Tuesday morning in October. Let’s stay in touch with one another. If you haven’t seen or spoken with a brother in a while, reach out on Slack, text, or telephone call. You never know when someone needs that touch from a brother. God bless!

The End
