Boston Lager asked me to Q at Run Strong, and I was glad to oblige. I have never been Q at Run Strong so this was a big deal for YHC! I had originally thought of some ECU campus tour; however, Boston Lager did that one last Tuesday, so I formulated a new plan. Thursday’s Rose High Rush we utilized the new section of Greenway, so I wanted to incorporate that and cover new ground for the PAX, while getting in LOTS of mileage! Pulled up at 5:25 and a huge crowd was present. Planted shovel flag and it was time to circle up.

Warm Up

  • Good Mornings  x 10
  • Butt Kickers  x 10
  • High Knees  x 10

The THANG

YHC told the group we would be doing a BLIMP today.  Rules were to run to the destination and circle back for the six, which would probably be YHC. We would do the exercises at each stop together as ONE PAX.

  • First leg of run down Elm St to Greenville Blvd and over to “The Flashing Sign”.  YHC thought these were pretty easy instructions, but I am probably showing my age, because when I was growing up in Greenville the ECU sign on corner of Charles was the ONLY flashing sign!  5 Burpees
  • Second Leg continue down Greenville Blvd and turn right on Arlington. Stop at WITN for 10 Lunges each leg. Interestingly enough, Mr. Belding suddenly appeared. Apparently he had showed up for EC and had to slip away when nature called. When he re-emerged, we were running down Elm Street, so he had been playing catch up the whole time!
  • Third Leg – continue down Arlington, turn right on Clifton Street which cuts around and down to Evans; turn right and meet at the Greenway Entrance for 15 Imperial Walkers
  • Fourth Leg – run through the Greenway to lower Minges lot, and run uphill to the CoopStrong sticker on the pole at Coop StrongHold.  20 Merkins AND……since we were there 23 Papa Smurf Jacks!
  • Final Leg – no time to go down College Hill……so ran back to the shovel flag via 14th Street to Elm Street. Arrived at 6:15.

Moleskin

What a great run this morning!  Myself and Gamecock were bringing in the rear at 3.85 miles, while those at the front like Hat Trick and G String pushed out 4.9 miles! Strong work. Speaking of Hat Trick and G String, it was good to have those Brothers back in the Gloom with us. Lots of good feedback today on the route we took, as well as last Thursday at RUSH when I took the PAX away from the AO. Don’t be scared to do something different. Shake things up and get everyone out of their comfort zone, including YOURSELF. That’s where we GROW. Make a difference in someone’s life today.
