Weather has created some interesting workout conditions in history F3ENC. In YHC’s 18 months of getting to work out with F3 brothers, today was a snow covered 1st. After consulting with others including 1stF Q, YHC elected to move start time to the afternoon to keep away from hiding ice in the dark of the morning. Even with sun shining on The Commons, the ground was still a block of ice. After many attempts to pierce the tundra with the blade of the spade, the commons shovel flag was packed back up. A non traditional day for sure. We gathered around. YHC gave a very brief disclaimer and overview of route. A quick good bye to the ruckers, and we were off. Around the bridge, then back to the non existent flag, and right by a pax members truck. …that’s odd, haven’t seen him! (And wouldn’t till just before CoT. He missed the group, but still got the miles!) But, lucky to find another brother out for a run and happy to join the group. A quick pit stop, then on to the greenway for a very unique running experience. Most of the greenway stayed in the shade leaving plenty of snow to run on. Some what packed, very irregular. Reminded some of pax of running on the sand without all that grit in your shoes. Made for a lot of work. YHC will be suprised if at least a little delayed onset muscle isn’t experienced by the pax. About the 4 mile mark we pick up one more pax, exited the green way, and moseyed back to the start on the best asphalt we could find.

PAX gathered to close the non traditional workout in the traditional way. The CoT often makes good work out great by what the pax bring to it. This was one of those.

Reflecting on the 2pm start time: it made things get in the way. Kids, family, plans, daily hiccups making it complicated to post. With safety as a primary concern, later start was the right call. The hecticness of how our days can unfold shines a light on the simple uncomplicated beauty of the early morning. So thankful to get to run with the guys this afternoon, and excited to get back to the early morning gloom next week! The End! (Literally, The End has the Q next week!)

Prayer request for injured pax and patience for us in our interactions with loved ones
