YHC has been missing out on RuckReady the last couple months, so when Bench asked me to Q the Clydesdale, I knew I wanted to bring a little ruck action to Gate 5. I put a message out on the Twitter machine the night before to let the PAX know to bring a 20lb-ish coupon (a ruck, kettleball, dumbbell, whatever struck their fancy) – something just heavy enough to tote and not be too comfortable! YHC dusted off his ruck and grabbed a couple extra dumbbells and rolled up to CoopStronghold to find an even dozen strong PAX ready to get it on!

Warm Up:
SSH IC x20
Imperial Walkers IC x20
Burpees OYO x5

Da Thang:
YHC decided to do a Clydesdales version of the Merkin Mile. Each of the PAX would tote their weight or ruck around a 1-mile loop completing 25 Merkins and 25 Squats each 1/4-mile. We had 4 stops: 1) the bus stop at the lower Minges lot, 2) the Rite Aid parking lot on the corner of Charles and 14th, 3) the circle in front of Gateway Dorm at the top of College Hill, and 4) the bus stop in the upper lot in front of Dowdy-Ficklen. Since we’re Clydesdales, the pace was a mosey or fast walk and allowed a lot of good 2nd F along the way!

After the loop, the PAX rallied up at the Meadow for a round of what I’ll call “Double Coupon” DORA 1-2-3. The PAX partnered up for 100 Merkins, 200 LBC’s, and 300 Squats. While one partner did the exercises, the second mosied across the Meadow and back while carrying both of their weights. At 6:13, YHC called the round of DORA wherever the PAX were, and mosied back to the flag where Bench led the PAX in a quick round of Hip Thrusters until the clock struck 6:15.

Moleskin:
Strong work by the PAX! I really enjoy mixing things up a little and making sure the PAX get out of their comfort zones at Clydesdales. A good beatdown is made that much better when you can also get in some good 2nd F like we did along the way. I’m excited to see F3ENC continue to grow with new AO’s and new PAX, and it’s always good to Q in front a bunch of old and new faces! Aye!
