About a month ago, 9 brave F3ENC PAX set out for their first Go Ruck event (well it was Bush’s 1 millionth event) in Chapel Hill. We all were tested, but came out with several new things. YHC loved the team aspect and has incorporated the last 2 weeks into team exercises. Was also excited when the Cadre Bill split us up into 2 teams and mentioned “It Pays to be a Winner.” Several thoughts came through my head: Money alright, that could always be used, even more motivation to win. Many of the PAX showed up today, maybe thinking they were going to get paid and they did if they put in the work below…

Warm-up

15 Side Straddle Hops IC
15 Don Quixotes IC

The Thang

YHC had the PAX line up side by side in the month they joined. Closed Hand and YHC started in June 2014. Hokie was next in January 2014 and so on. Then alternated the PAX into 2 teams. Gave instructions to find a captain of the team. The Field of Dreams was huddled up in team formation and ready for the challenge. The other team was assembled and awaited the command. YHC was the Cadre and the odd man out (YT did merkins, burpees, high knees, squats, jump squats, etc were done during the team exercises and took the Looser penalty each time).

YHC gave the command to Run to the Picket Fence
Winner – 5 Burpees
Looser – 10 Burpees

When the Winners and Loosers were done during the exercises we rotated between Planking or Al Gore for the Six.

YHC gave the command to line up single file on the crack and perform Carolina Choo Choo to mile start (didn’t realize there were so many cracks, stopped at light pole).
Winner – 1 minute Balls 2 the Wall
Looser – 1:30 minute Balls 2 the Wall

YHC gave the command to Run to the Start of the Mile.
Winner – 5 Merkins
Looser – 10 Merkins

YHC gave the command to Indian Run to the Blacktop right before the Shovel Flags. Explained the Indian Run (sprint to the front, jog and keep the PAX together). Told them YHC would run ahead to check conditions, some reason the PAX was trying to keep up with me and left their teammates behind. Sent teams back for the Six and reminded them to communicate, work together as a team, and finish the Indian Run together. Field of Dreams team waited for all members and resumed the Indian Run. The other team did the Non-Indian Run the rest of the way.
Winner – 5 Mule Kicks
Looser – 10 – Mule Kicks

YHC gave the command to Fireman carry teammate from one light pole, switch with the person you carry at the light pole and come back. Since there was an odd number one of them was to Run backwards.
Winner – 5 Squats
Looser – 10 Squats

YHC gave the command to bear crawl from one light pole to the next, run back to the beginning/light pole.
Winner – 5 Carolina Dry Dock
Loser – 10 Carolina Dry Dock

YHC then congratulated the PAX for their teamwork. Excellent communication is needed to be a team!

We joined together back in our circle for the Burpee Wave – YHC started out with 2 Burpees while other PAX did SSH till YHC was done and the next PAX member did Burpees while all did SSH, till it came back to YHC.

Reversed the Burpee Wave – YHC started out with 4 Burpees while other PAX did Arm Circles (Forward, Backward, Small, Big) till YHC got to 2 and the next PAX member started their 4 Burpees while all did Arm Cirles, till it cam back to YHC.

Circle of Mary:
20 Alternating Wide Leg Sit-Ups IC
30 Alternating Edge IC
YHC called Mr. Mom in to lead, he chose 20 WWII Sit-Ups (great job!)

BoM

Splinter mentioned Amy Johnson, continuing Breast Cancer Treatments.
Popeye mentioned a co-worker that lived next door to the family in Winterville that lost everything in a fire.
Praise – YHC asked Tin Man about his wife before we got started and she is doing good.

YHC closed us in Prayer.

CoT

Lunch next Tuesday will be at Chico’s, #SignUp

I will finish out the month of February. T-Bone will schedule and promote the locations for March, I will add them on SignUp Genius. Who has April and the other months? Step up, easy way to be a leader.

Convergence on Saturday, February 20th.

Moleskin

The workout was a good success and the PAX enjoyed the team aspect. More exercises to come the next time. It was interesting to watch the men work and communicate.

Sure there was #MumbleChatter, it’s not an F3 workout if there is not. If it’s easy, I don’t want to be involved. We all should be striving to make our self better men. Lean on each other and find that strength!
