Today’s Ruck workout was centered on working as a team, as the saying goes “teamwork makes the dream work”. Pax were instructed to bring coupons as they will be in play on this Ruck. Pax on site began with a simple Warm-A-Rama with rucksacks on, consisting of SSH and arm burners. We immediately transitioned into the THANG. YHC delivered two 8x8x9′ timbers named Misery and Company to the site. Pax were instructed that two Pax would be on each timber performing a shoulder carry. AYES could be heard for miles! The remaining pax carried coupons until it was called to switch positions. YHC lead the PAX to the first intersection at Heritage and King St. Like ducks we made our way across the intersection and continued to the next intersection at Queen and King. The switch was called at this point and the Pax under the timbers handed the timbers off flawlessly with little to no loss of motion. YHC called for FARVA to report to the 6 to ensure we stayed close together. After making the left turn onto Queen, we had four city blocks to reach our next turning point. The switch was called at each intersection again and we waited for the 6 at each intersection. After the four blocks had passed, we made a left turn onto Blount st and proceeded to Renolyds seafood. Pax switched as called for or as needed to provide appropriate relief.  A right-hand turn onto North Street had us in eyesight of Pearson park, oh but we were far from done. We had just finished Rucking 1 mile as we entered the parking area for the Pearson Park playground. The Pax discovered a surprise awaited them in their path. An empty litter laid on the ground. Pax loaded all coupons into the litter, hoisted the now loaded litter, re-hoisted both timbers back on shoulders, and carried every single piece of equipment down and back up the hills on the walking trail at Pearson Park. At this point, you could really feel the burn as everyone was digging deep and breathing heavy! The Pax continued carrying all equipment back down Gordon Street and took a right on Heritage street. The Pax on the 6 were instructed to cut through the parking area as we were getting close on time and we decided we were going to stay in our current positions until the end. This showed me the true caliber of the men that were present today. No quit was in their hearts. We made it back to the circle with five minutes to spare.

The last five minutes of the Burn Down consisted of the F3 cards being drawn by a random PAX. The first card drawn represented the workout, the second card represented the reps. The first card was High knees with a count of 8-IC and the second exercise was bear crawls. YHC called for bear crawls to be performed at a set distance and back.
