With the 2021-2022 school year starting in two weeks in Pitt County, 16 PAX showed up for a stroll around town on a route that covered six (6!) schools:  Elmhurst Elementary, Eppes Middle School, Wahl-Coates Elementary, Saint Peter Catholic School, Eastern Elementary & Trinity Christian School — in that order.

The Run Strong AO was temporarily relocated to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on account of the Little League Softball World Series at the renowned Elm Street Park.

The Back 2 School Dash route took PAX from the stadium to Elmhurst Elementary School, LEFT onto Elm Street, RIGHT onto 5th Street, merge onto 10th Street, RIGHT onto Cedar Lane to Laura Lane (via connecting sidewalk at library & community center), RIGHT onto 14th Street back to the stadium.

PAX logged approximately 5 miles

Math Problem #1:  If 16 PAX leave the stadium en route to 6 schools covering 5 miles and only 14 PAX return at the end, how many PAX were missing for the Name-a-Rama? (They were eventually recovered!)

Statistics professor, String Bean, offered this perspective: “If Q’ing were baseball, 14 out of 16 is OUTSTANDING!”

Did you know? 14 out of 16 is 87.5%.  That’s your Back 2 School stat of the week.
