When Grout had to call in sick, Candy Cane asked me to Q and I decided to do a simple but difficult workout. In the gloom, there was much mumble chatter especially about the effects of situps on your rear end, but good work was done by all and laughs were plenty. Good workout overall and it’s always nice when Abu decided to surprise you with a 50lb kettlebell to sling around.

Warm-up:

-20x Side Straddle hops

-15x Michael Phelps (4-count)

-10x Squats

-10 x lunges (4-count)

The Thang:

The workout was a Tabata circuit (8x 20 secs. on/10 secs off) with a run to the tree after each circuit.

I shared a poem that I have shared before in prayers and I’ll post it again because I truly believe in the message that we may not get what we pray for, but we receive the events and opportunities we need to become better people.

I asked God for strength that I might achieve, I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health that I might do greater things, I was given infirmity that I might do better things. I asked for riches that I might be happy, I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men, I asked for all things that I might enjoy life, I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for, but everything that I hoped for; Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among all men, most richly blessed.
