YHC arrived 30 minutes early and planted some treasures about the grounds of Third St. School. Patch uncovered my plan when he stumbled upon a kettlebell on the way to take a leak.

Introduction – Disclaimer was made and a summary of today’s activities was revealed. This would be a different workout. We would be challenged in disciplines such as cooperation, communication, and unity. Sound like Ruckership? Confession…YHC designed this workout to share  a lot of ruck principles with the PAX, without the rucksack of course. Lastly, I shared one of my favorite quotes:

“Unity is strength. With cooperation and teamwork great things can be achieved.”

The Thang 

Global Warming Plank – PAX would plank and plank walk in a circle while each member leads an exercise IC. Glow Worm has an odd habit of skipping “1”.

Native American Inch Worm – Pax lined up along 3rd Street and began the usual run BUT each time 2 PAX sprinted to the front we halted, hustled into an Inch Worm formation and performed 1 Merkin IC. This continued to the stop sign. Rinse and repeat except we did Crab Worm Sky Humpers coming back.

Moseyed over to playground area. 2 teams. Team 1 would traverse the monkey bars and run the circle, transporting couponage along the way (2 40# sandbags, log, dumbbell). Team 2 had to start at the parallel bars and do the same. Upon arrival back at the start, each team switched. This was a lot of fun. Not all PAX could complete each activity but remember…we are a TEAM. We spotted each other until each man completed the course. I may or may not have said DFQ several times.

Moseyed over to some random tree and happened upon a fabulous looking rucksack. PAX lined up on six shoulder to shoulder feet up 6″. We passed my 50# rucksack down the line. The destination was my truck 50 yards away. After each person passed, he performed a Burpee Broadjump to the front of the line. The key here was to time the pass with the Burpee Broadjump so nobody would get “stuck” with the sack.

Sloseyed to the red topped pylons. Performed ascending reps of Burpee Groiners at each pylon. There are 6. We completed 21.

Staggered to the side lot and there happened to be 2 60# sandbags and 2 cones set up. Teams would race throwing the sandbag to the cone and back. Asterisk…Other team members would Crabwalk down and Walkcrab back. We all won.

Laid down shoulder to shoulder. 1 press and pass with 60# sandbag down and back.

Sprinted to breezeway. 2 columns. Partner Power Press Irkins (one partner lays down while the other partner uses his hands to perform Irkins) IC. Partner squats while passing kettlebell. Partner Power Derkins (one partner lays down holding the other partner’s feet as he does Derkins). Partner squats while passing kettlebell diagonally.

Balls To The Wall. One PAX on each side of column. Challenge is to hold out longer than the person on the other side, not knowing who it is.
