With a name like Sue, one must get tough or die. YHC brought that mentality to Clark-LeClair Stadium this morning. Tonka asked for Sue Q’s and I had an idea for a really baller beatdown to coincide with President’s Day.

Clock hit 5:30 and disclaimer given and received as YHC donned my very best patriotic Murica gear… even if Scotty Moe didn’t listen/pay attention. Hopefully he has some luck with the security camera footage he was seeking.

YHC hit play on the Pandora patriotic American music station, turned the dry-erase board around to unveil the Wienke, and reality swiftly set in for the PAX posting. This was going to suck and the mumblechatter resonated that fact instantly.

Warm Up (none because it’s Sue and we had some hustling to do)

The Thang:

  • YHC diagramed a list of Presidential-themed kettlebell exercises and displayed them on a dry-erase board. As such:
  1. A lap around the Clark-Leclair parking lot would lead each round
  2. Monroe Merkins
  3. Cleveland Curls
  4. Taft Twists (Russian)
  5. Eisenhour Elf on a Shelf
  6. Trump Triceps (extensions)
  7. Hoover High-pull
  8. Garfield Goblet Squats
  9. Polk Press (overhead, two-handed)
  10. Clinton Cleans
  11. Willson WWII’s
  12. Roosevelt Rows (single arm, 10x each arm)
  13. LBJ Lunges
  14. Carter Conventional Deadlifts
  15. Buchanan Burpees
  • PAX ran a lap and then did 20 of the first exercise. They then ran another lap, did 20 of the first and second exercises. Then ran a lap, did 20 of exercises 1,2, and 3. Continued with adding the next exercise.
  • Based on mumblechatter YHC decided to halt all laps and modified to have all PAX work through all 15 exercises for one final round. Cousin IT was the only PAX to successfully work through all exercises and was finishing burpees as time expired. What a stud! YHC was able to get through all but burpees. Strong performance from all PAX at Sue today.

Clock hit 6:15 and to everyone’s delight, the Presidential Sue was done.

Many thanks to Tonka for the opportunity to Q #aboynamedsue and for getting this site moving. For many men this site provides a start to the week that pushes the envelope and catalyzes acceleration. I’m thankful for the Monday gut-punch that is Sue.

Prayers: Skipper’s back issues (seeing a neurologist), The Closed Hand interview TODAY, Cable job search, Wimpie’s Aunt and her battle with cancer, praise for Stern and Bababooey for embarking on their Sue journey, Punchout’s 2.0, Sheets family and baby Asher
