Today at the was the first workout at the stadium in 2017 and the 9 of us started the new year out just right! YHC had thought deeply about how to bring the pain on the first and after running an idea by the Site Q (thanks Dewey), the PAX embarked on a “reckoning” if you will.  20 different workouts with 17 reps of each.  THE 2017 Workout!

Warm-up:

Side Straddle Hops, Don Quixotes, Slow merkins, Butt Kickers, and High Knees (Each exercise x17 reps, IC)

Mosey to the Elmhurst school side of the stadium where the stone benches are the PAX started with 17 Rockette Dips and 17 Sweat Angels IC.  After that, 17 Elevated Merkins, 17 Weezy Jeffersons, and 17 Hillibilies OYO accompanied by some A Capella musical renditions by  Cold Cut, String Bean, and Hot Pursuit (Who I will refer to as the Soggy Bottom Trio for copywrite reasons)

Mosey to parking lot behind the stadium under the dim street light.  The PAX then performed 17 Mountain Climber Merkins IC, 17 Imperial Walkers (OYO), 17 Plank Jacks (OYO), 17 Rosalitas (OYO, again with an A Cappella version of “El Paso” originally by Marty Robbins but was performed by the Soggy Bottom Trio).  We finished up here with 17 Stagger Merkins IC.

Mosey to the main gate entrance where the PAX completed 17 second Wall Sits (each member counted 17 seconds), 17 second Balls to the Wall (again each member counted), 17 Air Presses while holding a Wall Sit IC, 17 Donkey Kicks (OYO) and 17 Dollys IC.

That was 20 workouts with 17 reps of each. We still had 6 minutes to spare so we moseyed over to the closest stairwell and ran up and down the stairs 17 times.

Mosey back to the shovel flag to wrap up.

Prayer requests:

Announcements:

Abu starts Runstrong (as site Q) Tomorrow, Fertile has the Q @ BLP on Wednesday (apparently he likes to rock out loud literally).

Moleskin:

It was a blast this morning and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect timing on the rain (as far as its intensity).  It was great to have Steamy and Crack Corn out there this morning! As my first time Q’ing, I have gained some serious respect for these guys who regularly Q.  Be sure to thank them for the hard work and time they put into coming up with these beatdowns and for being able to go through them!
