Big group filled with #HIMs = big fun on run day! 18 gathered in the gloom to unknowingly (to the pax, not the Q) run most of the Cupid Crawl’s 5K route. After a disclaimer (YHC is still not a professional) we jumped into the unofficial starting exercise with 15 SSH IC, then time to get going! we started with breaking into two groups for indian runs down 1st to Elm st. Mosey down Elm St to 10th St. Bataan Death March (indian run with 5 burpees) in two groups down 10th to Wright Rd. Mosey down Wright Rd till it ends, left on Ragsdale Rd to 14th St. Follow the leader down 14th St to Elm St. This part of 14th St was not great for running. Too busy even in the predawn gloom and without much room to avoid incoming hostiles. In light of the Q’s poor choice to have pax run down a treacherous strip of road, a mistake YHC plans not to repeat, String Bean’s strobes helped pax feel a little bit safer. From the intersection PAX split back into two groups for an indian run to Elm Street Park and a quick Run Strong AO invasion. Such a cool thing about The Commons: can easily run to at least 4 deferent ENC AOs! Today YHC had the tennis courts in mind for some mid run speed work. After a quick round around the courts PAX lined up for a couple down and back sprints. There was a burning desire in many of the PAX (though defiantly not all) and the Q for one last sprint, but with time run short the last was left for the legs of the RunStrong men. Off we went down Elm to 1st and back to the flag right at 0700.

Whether the Q has great plan or not, the PAX makes the workout great. PAX came in force and brought the goods with them: determination, shiny stuff, plenty of mumble chatter, and lots of encouragement. It’s alway such a pleasure to both lead and be guided by a group of HIMs. Big shout out to all those pushing hard though the tough parts, and a big thank you to every man who posted because you were the best part of the miles. Can’t wait to run with you again!
