SOAP BOX MOMENT
YHC’s schedule has been rough as of late. My newly acquired smartwatch tells me I am averaging around 4 hours of sleep per night – work obligations, M, 2.0, more work, travel, etc. (I know many of you can relate).  But, I can’t adequately express to each of you how invigorating it is to wake up in THE GLOOM and see my brothers.  There is power in this group, and it’s more than just “a workout”.  I think M has seen a positive change (even with the lack of sleep) because of the men I am surrounded by – so, while this may not be the normal arc of a typical BACKBLAST – I think it’s important to extend gratitude in a public forum even if it is deeply personal. So, THANK YOU ALL.

WORKOUT ADVENTURE
On YHCs trip to BLP (moving towards Worthington) this AM with Post Malone playing in the background, he noticed a gathering at EC Cats (or whatever they call it now).  “Respect,” he thought.  “Cheerleaders embracing the suck” – awesome.  As he made that familiar right into the park, he had to press down on the brake seeing the gate closed and locked.  YHC had many thoughts swirling around his foggy head – Why am I paying taxes? Where is workout? What’s going to happen to my dense WEINKE?

YHC shook the thoughts and figured EC Cats was now an F3 parking lot. He U-Turned and pulled in to see a brigade of EC RUCKERS trudging through the darkness.  My people.

The workout was tough. We took a lap around the loop and stopped at the gate of the beach volleyball courts.  I would like to re-name this area – It should be called BAYWATCH.  With summer just around the corner, and all of these summer bodies we are working on, it’s only fitting that when we workout here in the HEAT (shirtless – obviously) that we are equated to Beer Garden’s German brother David Hasslehoff and his team of manly lifeguards by those who pass-by. I can even bring a speaker, and we can run in slow-motion to cheesy 80s montages of high-toned ballads.  Feel free to object in the comments.

Well, BAYWATCH was an absolute beatdown of sprints, hops, and bear crawls.  YHC knows he’s an insufferable try-hard, and he also understands that he will sometimes be mocked from time to time.  STABLER has a wonderful ability to praise in mock in the same sentence.  Things like, “Everyone needs to vote for Fin so he can dethrone Abu.”  “Fin, when you land (on the broad jumps), you should land like a superhero.”  YHC was also mocked for his inability to count correctly (skipping numbers to breathe… you know to live).  YHC was told that COLD CUT taught him how to count for which CC snapped back in defense of himself and YHC.

Next was THE WALL.  Last night, while devising the WEINKE, YHC suspected that SPINAL TAP would be attending the AM beatdown.  It’s important as Q that you make decisions with the entire group in mind.  So, YHC took his own advice and neutered TAPs counting.  While PAX members were allowed a 10-count, TAP was limited to a 3-5 count.  Don’t worry everyone, he made the most of it – he still won the duration challenge.

Finish at THE FLAG. 6-MINs of plank and flutter kicks with short 5-sec transitions.  YHC learned that his planks were “So long,” said inappropriately. Later someone added something about “Girth.”  Maybe the EXICON should be updated to include LGPs – Long Girthy Planks.
