Was it the fact that in the 6th grade there was a little blonde named “Jane Doe”, a girl you had the hots for since the 3rd grade. Then her best friend told you that Jane wanted you to ask her to go “steady”. So right there on the tetherball court of your Elementary School, you swallowed your nerve, and asked Jane “out”. But then a half dozen girls burst into laughter. You found out it was a damn set-up and then you were freaked out to ask another girl out for years.

Was it your little brother who could kick your ass and get away with it?

Was it the bullies who were bigger than you and you couldn’t do crap about it?

Is it to defy the aging process or to have a new lease on life and faith?

Whatever the reason that we have decided to change from a sad-clown to a WARRIOR we all were there, bright and early this morning, and didn’t stay in the fart-sack! We didn’t wait till we had more time, more money, more energy and our bodies felt sound. You came to go to my own personally created hell and it began before the sun rose on the excuse ridden people who belong in the circus; who were still in bed dreaming about when they were going to make a difference in their minds, life and body.

We gathered on the field and immediately ran out of the confines of the park to my play land of Vicksburg after some side-straddle hops and some planks. But the soul wanted more for us… more lessons we needed to learn… and when the soul is denied… it’ll beat us into submission if it has to, to get its way…so we began our tormented journey.

After running, twisting, pushing, planking, burping and dying we began to ask ourselves if this is making us happy. But happiness is an elusive son of a gun and our minds are starting to show us that we have been looking in all the wrong places. Looking across to one another we can see that our brotherhood and close-knit pain is changing us and changing our sad face into one that chooses to be a man in his life…who decides to be happy no matter what. The day will be good because if we can do this, we can do anything!

Hanging onto the ground we decided that we don’t want to get fatter, weaker and uglier. We want to make the world’s best antidepressant and get rid of all that pent up aggression. As we rub our bodies onto the moist ground we crave a better existence and love the therapy of knowing that we have a brother next to us that we can share any problem we have.

It wasn’t fun coming out of the neighborhood knowing that I was the Q and that I about made myself spew merlot into the grass but it’s still more fun than a treadmill and I know I be glad when I am done.

This workout was a no-stop, keep-going and defeated the little sad clown feeling who has been pushed around, hidden, unknown and lonely for most of its life. This is what defines us and changes us for the better. We don’t have to do it, hell sometimes we don’t want to do it, but we feel great knowing that there are people who care and are on this journey of change with us.

F3 for life.

F3 for your life.
