Much of this is written by Bono. This back blast is written in OBT style after the Backblast 001. We had to expand it a little because no one can talk as much as Dredd and OBT said it needed to be tougher.

Some 25 studs posted at 0700 New Year’s Day for the F3 Nation 10 year Anniversary Convergence for F3ENC at Boyd Lee Park. Out of the pre-dawn fog, the headlights just kept turning in off Corey Road – an impressive showing.

Boot Camp Thang: Bono was supposed to Q this workout, but his 2.0 was exposed again and he had to bow out to make sure his daughter test negative. Cousin IT took the lead to open things at the shovel flag with a brief disclaimer and description of what to expect, including an explanation of the fact that yes, the Qrusade is just “you against you,” but it’s also you against everyone else out there – and that’s a good thing. This workout is led by some OGs and ENC Nantans to share the leadership. This is a little history of ENCs roots and future.

Warmup: Papa Smurf was the first ENC Nantan. He was a friend and role mode for us. He battled ALS for 10 months as he taught us, not how to die with dignity, but to live life with love. 11 of us started with 50 Smurf Jack’s IC in honor the life of Papa Smurf and one burpee for Moses. Then we took a lap around the BLP perimeter stopping 1/2 way by the VB courts (1/4 mile).

YHC introduced The Closed Hand and then he did an Introduction to basic exercises, he started ENC in Sept 2013. Our official launch was February 21, 2015, so he led ENC for 19 months until we were officially launched, sometimes that was a long and difficult journey to stay the course. These are the first exercises from the 1st F3 workout.

Continued Introduction to basic exercises, led by YHC, your Comz Q, who has posted daily for over 6 years and does the behind the scenes work no one appreciates but is vital to how we stay connected. He’s been a constant keel keeping ENC ship sailing forward. Here’s the 2nd set of exercises from the 1st F3 workout.

Mosey back to VB Courts. YHC introduced Tonka and the introduction to basic exercises continued, our first 1st F Q and Nantan Emeritus. He may have LRAs now but at least he has a strong core. He set the standard for how we should each aim to do the difficult thing each morning, to “push the rock” so we are prepared when our community needs us the most. He decided to use a course from MSU and go off-script.

Mosey to Mount Boyd Lee, then setup 11’s: Burpees and Jump Squats. Some PAX thought they could do a mall walk when they breezed through the reps.

We then lined up at the end of the parking lot and were going to sprint to the flags. Slalom decided to take a head start, so we decided to go the backstop instead. When we returned we did 10 Jump Squats OYO.

We then lined up at the end of the parking lost and sprinted to the flags. Old Bay (who will Q soon), led us in 10 Merkins IC.

We then made one last Sprint to the Shovel Flags trying to not get beat by the ruckers. We then had 5 Burpees OYO.

Noonan was to lead the last bit of exercises, but was a no-show…

Run Thang: 5 PAX departed BLP on a Corey Road subdivision run. First we ran thru Corey Ridge, then out to Windsor Downs, next went into Farrington, then hit Blackwood, Tulls Cove and Vicksburg. Then headed back to BLP and finished by completing one lap around the park. The group got in 6.1 miles.

Ruck Thang: We rucked around to visit SanFran, did squats, thrusters, and curls. Rucked around the neighborhood and back to the volleyball court. There we lined up on one end, bear crawl to net, 21 merkins, bear crawl to end, 21 thrusters, bear crawl to net, 11 Merkins. Back around to the flag where we joined up with the bootcampers and did some the bootcamp with them finishing off with a sprint to the flag!

During the Thangs we introduced another Qrusade tradition from the first F3 workout – the ritual calling out of the names of people who should be present, sharing the pain, but for whatever reason are not. This is our accountability to reach out to that brother. Not to guilt him, but to connect with him. We call that love.
