Skipper and YHC met at ESP at 0500 for a little EC and checked to make sure the plan YHC had in his mind was beatdown worthy. It was…

The Thang

PAX was informed we would be moseying to the intersection of 10th Street and Rock Springs Road. Two routes were given and we were off. Once both groups made it to the destination, the PAX was informed we would be having an informal relay race. We split into two groups, the group on the left took the left side of the fork on Rock Springs Road and the group on the right took the right side of the fork. The instructions were to complete a big circle by going up to Edgewood Drive and taking a left or right and making your way back to the beginning. We would complete 3 trips with 5 burpees, 10 merkins and 5 burpees again before starting each trip.

Side note: YHC had String Bean and Abu behind him. In my mind I side “Hometown.. you better rock this, don’t let these boys pass you”. Hammered out my burpees, broke into a uphill sprint and about halfway up the hill had a nice session of dry heaving. Needless to say they passed me anyway. Those guys are a different specimen.

After 3 trips around the Rock Springs Sun, we had 15 minutes left. Enough time to complete AMRAP copperhead squats while your partner climbs the Science and Tech stair tower, rinse and repeat.

Back to the flag for 3 minutes of Mary and that sweet 6:15 had graced us with her presence.

I had never Q’d RunStrong. It always intimidated me because there is always big numbers and the “Cream of the Crop” always post here. Just like everything else though, F3 has showed me that no matter what workout you come up with, no matter what shape your in, etc. my brothers will always have my back. I really enjoyed this morning (even the dry heaving part). See you in the gloom!
