9 showed for EC Ruck at 0440 – Patch, Ratched, Stabler, Haavaad, Pothole, Scotty Moe, Cold-Cut, Backhoe, and YHC.

1 showed for EC Run closer to 0500 – Fruity Pebbles (this HIM is serious about BRR 2020)

We circled up at 5:29, the disclaimer was given and with no FNG’s present, the Q decided to make it (somewhat) challenging!

WARM UP

  • 20 SSH – IC (4 count)
  • 20 Monkey Humers – IC (4 count)
  • 20 Merkins – IC (4 count)
  • 20 Jump squats – IC (on my down)

THANG

We counted off…even numbers on a team and odd numbers on a team…8 on each team. We lined up shoulder-to-shoulder on sidewalk facing the fence about 20-30 yards. Teams were instructed that this would be friendly competition (relay style)…

  • Race 1 – All PAX hold plank on sidewalk while one member from each team bear crawls to fence and sprints back. Team even just barely finished first with a come from behind victory. Winners did 20 hallelujahs and the winner got to punish the other team with 20 exercises…Stabler suggested burpees and YHC couldn’t have agreed more! Patch pointed out that the Q did not state the prize for winning/losing prior to the results…My man Bono would call that “strateegery!”
  • Race 2 – All PAX hold peoples chair while one member from each team lunged to the fence and crab walked back. Team odd had been motivated and stepped it up leaving the even team in the dust. Spinal Tap was even crab walking fast. The losers were instructed by Patch to do wiper merkins (wiping nose on hand on the down switching hands every other rep).
  • Race 3 – Was a mess…Q takes full responsibility for not making adjustments. Each team lined up single file (with the two teams side by side) to do a 1-mile Indian run race. Team Odd went back for the 6 like true HIM…Great work and leadership! No man left behind!! On the way back the to flag the race was scrapped, both teams joined forces and the goal became finishing together. No rewards/penalties for this round.

Next, PAX were instructed to partner up for DORA…100 merkins, 200 jump squats, 300 LBC’s. While Partner 1 did reps on the sidewalk, Partner 2 bear crawled to the fence and mosied back to Partner 1 to swap. Bear crawls are always a crowd favorite…

With 3-4 minutes left, we circled up for some yes and no work that came straight from GrowRuck 17’s Cadre DS. If you haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying these two simple, yet punishing exercises, you are in for a treat one day soon. If curious, ask Patch what they will do to you neck…

And 6:15 it was!
