For those that fartsacked during The Commons aka the greatest AO in ENC…

You missed out.

We experienced:

Rain, Thunder, Lightning, Sunrise, Gutter Puddles. And so much more.

There were runners, ruckers, and a biker.

There was Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith.

The runners headed north on Greene with a plan to turn on Mumford and try to make it to 33.

As soon as the whistle blew at 0530, the sky opened up and immediately flooded the sidewalks and shoulders.

The curveball was thrown but all 19 men were up to the challenge.

DON’T TURN ON MUMFORD!!!

Some PAX were not listening to the change of instructions. You know who you are.

We all made it back at 0630.

Big welcome to Forrest from F3 Kinston. The first Kinston FNG with 2 posts.

YHC thinks we have found a BRR Captain for next years Kinston Team!

Bono gave us a great reminder at the end of the COT that we all need to wear our reflective gear.

It’s not just for you. It protects the group as a whole. Especially on a morning like the one we had today…

Thanks for the reminder, brother.

We had multiple prayer requests. God heard them all.

YHC led the prayer.

We took a photo, pulled the shovel flag, and all 19 men left in a better place than when they started.

String Bean Out

PS: About the BackBlast name:

YHC shared a praise in the COT.

Thankful to be alive.

Last week, during a family reunion in the beautiful NC Mountains, YHC went on a hike in search of some waterfalls near the parkway that one of the cousins had heard about.

After 2 hours of bushwhacking uphill, we found the falls.

There were upper and lower falls.

Half of the hikers forged ahead to check out the upper falls.

YHC decided to go and take a look at the lower- put the back pack down, took a step towards the falls, lost traction and slipped right in the chute.

It was a 16 foot drop into about 4 and a half feet of water.

Three seconds that YHC will not forget for a long time.

Had the presence of mind to tuck into a cannonball, not knowing what was beneath.

If it would have been rocks or more shallow water, YHC might not be walking today.

Walked away with a severely sprained finger, but no other damage.

Thankful for grace.

Two lessons-

Every step counts. Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually.

and…

Don’t go chasing waterfalls!
