Shortly after #TheSasquatch, another benefit for Papa Smurf was announced. The event was mainly organized by Oakmont Runners for Bo. We had several participants and also volunteers.
Warm-up
Muggsy and YHC got there about the same time as Papa Smurf. We B-lined it over to him before many others would notice him.
We did a lot of stretches, OYO of course.
Right before we were about to start, Papa Smurf’s M read the following for him:
“Thank you everyone for being here this morning! Today is very special to Bailey, Jefferson, Mary Ann, and me. We certainly never imagined 3 months ago that the need for this event would even exist, but all of you are proof that God takes our most challenging experiences and makes something happen immeasurably more than any of us could do.
I want to thank Oakmont Runners for Bo for their leadership in putting on the CoopStrong 3K. Also, a big thank you to the many sponsors; their generosity is very special and I do encourage others to support them and their businesses. Most of all, thank you all for taking time and expense to be here today and the many others participating virtually. I am filled with joy by your support for us! I hope you will enjoy today and take with you a renewed spirit for the impact YOUR life makes on many others!”
